True blackoutConsidering a blackout fabric? Your blind will be coated with a layer of reflective coating. The coating reflects the light, so your room will be dark even with a light colour fabric. This will keep your house cool in summer and it helps to protect the fabric from fading. Thanks to the brushes along the sides the light will not come through, so there will be no aura of light around the fabric.

FAQ

Can I install it myself? Is it hard?

Installing our Skylight Blind is very easy. Bloc strives to be innovative in every aspect. One of these innovations is our easy installation procedure. First, you fit the cassette into place using the adhesive tape on the back. Then you have both hands free to secure it with two screws. Slide in the siderails and secure those with a screw at the bottom. Done! Check out our installation video to see for yourself!

My skylight is hard to reach, can you help?

We offer telescopic poles in two sizes, 1 to 2 metres and 1.2 to 3 metres. These will allow you to operate your blind as well as your skylight window.

Will I be able to open the skylight window with a bind installed?

No problem. The blind will be installed inside the window frame, close to the glass, inside the part that tilts when you open the window. This means the blind does not obstruct your window as it is always parallel to the glass.

Can the blind be opened halfway?

The blind can be stop at any position by releasing the handle. If you push the handle towards the glass you can freely move it up and down.

What is the difference between Bloc and original brand skylight blinds?

We have developed a range of skylight blinds each with their own performance features. Our premium blind has a very important design feature which other types do not have. To be truly blackout, the blind must have a protective case on the back of the top cassette unit and our premium blinds have this feature. This has a number of benefits- it stops light leaking in at the top when the blind is fully closed, it prevents the fading of the fabric by sun which results in bands of faded fabric, and it prevents damaging or marking the fabric during installation. Also, our blind was tested by the BBSA and it has been proven to safe up to 43% on heat loss. So for the prices listed, you are getting a high quality blind, extensive guarantee and a full choice of colours and fabrics to choose from.

Where are these blinds made?

Our skylights are made in our high-tech facility in Northern-Ireland. Most of the components are imported closeby in Europe.

Are the images on your website an accurate representation of the colours?

We try to get as close as possible. Most of the times our customers are happy with what they get and expectations are met. We do recommend that you order fabric swatches to be sure. Especially if you choose a more particular colour.

How long does it take before my blind is delivered?

That depends on the popularity of the skylight type as well as the fabric you choose. For a limited number of popular products we keep stock. Those will usually be despatched on the same day. If your combination of skylight type and fabric is not available from stock, we will produce it on demand. Usually, you can expect your blind to arrive in 9 workdays.
